I’m Nicole Addario, but you can call me Nikki. I’m a Registered psychotherapist dedicated to creating a culturally inclusive, collaborative, and compassionate therapeutic environment that is tailored to you, with a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity.
I was born and raised in Brampton by older, second-generation Canadian parents, which gave me a unique blend of traditional values and modern insight. Growing up in such a vibrant and diverse city taught me the importance of cultural humility, open-mindedness, and meeting people exactly where they are. Being raised in an intergenerational household shaped my deep empathy, patience, and appreciation for different life experiences - qualities that guide how I show up in the therapy room.
My approach to therapy is client-centred, trauma-informed, holistic, and integrative. I believe people are complex, multifaceted, and constantly evolving - your therapy should reflect that. I draw from a variety of modalities including Internal Family Systems (informed), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. As a lifelong musician and self-proclaimed artsy-fartsy person, I love weaving creativity, humour, and your personal interests into our work. Whether it’s music, movement, writing, or anything else that brings you joy - if it matters to you, it matters in therapy.
I work with individuals aged 13 and up, supporting people through a wide range of concerns - from intergenerational trauma, depression, and anxiety, to burnout, identity exploration, and general personal growth. I have experience working with clients navigating LGBTQIA+ issues, multi-racial identities, cross-cultural and generational family dynamics, race-based bullying, men’s mental health, women’s issues, and unhealthy relationship patterns. My focus on trauma-informed therapy helps create a safe space for all.
My goal is to co-create a therapeutic space that’s affirming, respectful, and culturally sensitive - one where you can show up as your full, unfiltered self.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating. You might not know where to begin - and that’s okay. I’m here to walk with you through the messy, meaningful, and deeply human process of healing and self-discovery through individual therapy.
Let's go at your pace, together.
