I’m Pervaiz Muhammad, a therapist with a unique blend of real-world experience and psychological insight. Before stepping into the world of psychotherapy, I spent 10 years in the trades and construction industry, working in high-pressure environments that demanded resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills I now bring into my therapy practice.
Coming from a Middle Eastern/Asian background, I understand the deep impact of culture on mental health. I’ve seen firsthand how balancing communal (Eastern) and individualistic (Western) values can create existential struggles for those caught between worlds. My approach focuses on helping clients navigate these tensions, find meaning, and build a life that aligns with their true selves.
I have experience working with teens, adults, and seniors, as well as trauma survivors, and those transitioning out of long-term abusive relationships. My work is rooted in evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, CPT, and trauma-focused approaches, but I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. Therapy with me is practical, honest, and focused on real-world change.
As a divorced father co-parenting a high-energy 9-year-old, I also understand the complexities of relationships, fatherhood, and starting over. Whether you’re facing grief, identity struggles, relationship challenges, or mental health concerns, I offer a down-to-earth, non-pathologizing approach that helps you move forward with clarity and strength.
